Doctors often reassure patients that they will never miss their appendix. It is believed to be a “vestigial organ.” That is, an evolutionary leftover from primitive ancestors. Science has recently discovered that the appendix has a very important function. It helps developing human embryos sort out good and bad bacteria in the intestinal tract. This is vitally important to babies, but also into adulthood. Certainly we can get along without it, but it still has a necessary function in modern humans. Just because we do not appreciate what the function of an organ is at the present time does not mean it has no function. The evolutionist is left to explain what else we don’t know which we thought we knew. Let’s give God credit for the brilliantly designed human body. Let no one tell you that you were some random chemical accident. You were created and formed by the hands of a loving and all-powerful God.

The appendix is a useless leftover…or is it?
