Challenge to dinosaur-bird link raised by…evolutionists?

UNC paleobiologist Alan Feduccia, Oregon State Univ. zoologist John Rubin, and OSU doctoral student Devon Quick are among the lonely voices of scientists who believe all life evolved from lower life-forms but who disagree that birds evolved from dinosaurs. A new study published in the Journal of Morphology discovered that bird femurs are virtually locked to the abdomen rather than moving independently like reptiles and mammals. This is critically important because if it was not, the bird’s air sac would collapse when it inhales. It would make flight impossible otherwise. Ruben confessed, “It’s really kind of amazing that after centuries of studying birds and flight we still didn’t understand a basic aspect of bird biology.” Ruben added that the appearance of birds before dinosaurs in the fossil record is a “serious problem” that is ignored by those who advocate dinosaur-to-bird evolution. “Frankly, there’s a lot of museum politics involved in this, a lot of careers committed to a particular point of view even if new scientific evidence raises questions,” Ruben said. Now, Ruben and the others in this study are most certainly NOT Bible-thumping creationists. Consider this quote from Ruben, “This discovery probably means that birds evolved on a parallel path alongside dinosaurs, starting that process before most dinosaur species even existed.” Researcher Devon Quick added, “It just seems pretty clear now that birds were evolving all along on their own and did not descend directly from the theropod dinosaurs, which lived many millions of years later.” Now this would require two “miracles:” one for bird evolution, then another for dinosaur evolution later on. Odds are astronomically against it happening successfully once, let alone twice. Even with God out of the picture, an appeal to the miraculous is necessary. If evolutionists are even beginning to see that birds could not have evolved from dinosaurs, then maybe the truth is finally beginning to have an affect. There is one truth that never changes, makes errors, or contradicts itself—the Bible.
